Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share
all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa,
it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot
you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date
with folder names you know. You can drag and drop to arrange
your albums and make labels to create new groups.
Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized.

Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click
fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes
it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print at home,
make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello*, and even put pictures
on your own blog.

*Hello is a new program that lets you connect directly
with your friends to share your digital pictures.
If you’ve used an instant messenger program before,
you’ve already got the idea.
Hello is special because it lets you share your pictures
along with your messages. http://www.hello.com/

This software is nice. However I am sure the Google haters will avoid
it.

Seconded. Very nice indeed.

Good balance of features and ease of use and they've addressed most of the
limitations of the previous version. Looks good too. Still puts .ini files
in folders but they are 'hidden' files so they don't have to be in view and
they are easy enough to remove if the software is uninstalled.

I just looked at this this morning and wondered why I had missed it. I
guess it is still pretty new......so I went searching and found this
review.
http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/imagemanagement/gr/picasa.htm

here is the short form..

Pros:
Scans computer for all picture files, and monitors selected folders
for new pictures.
Provides good red-eye removal feature and Web photo gallery export.
Designed for non-techies.
Cons:
Underdeveloped; missing essential features like archiving, zooming,
and captioning.
Litters your computer's folders with Picasa.ini files.
Limited photo sharing features.

I 'may' try it, but it looks like I can do everything I want with
other stuff....YMMV...

This is an old review of Version 1.6 not the new Version 2 so you missed
that too...

Archiving (including to CD), zooming, captioning, print options, manual
enhancements and sharing options have all been addressed in Picasa2. Still
uses 1KB .ini files in folders rather than saving all settings in one
folder, but these are 'hidden' and do not have to be viewed. They can easily
be removed on uninstall

You may be pleasantly surprised so definitely worth a try

Are you sure. I been playing that three features since I downloaded
and installed that program.
