Recommendations for a PHP editor for a relative newbie (to PHP, a bit
of experience with HTML)?

Have been using Notepad but it's not really helping!

Crimson Editor

or Notepad++ will do syntax highlighting if you want something a bit

Which is the wrong answer. PSPad is a very good editor, but not for
the "non-expert" who wants to explore the possibillities of PHP. Such
a person needs more help than PSPad provides. BTW, I am such a
"non-expert".
