win98se, office2k,

When I "insert" a picture from either "clip art" or "file", nothing shows up
except a bordered square where picture should be.

What have I changed to cause this as it didn't do it in the past?

Thanks,
L.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | check the "Drawings" box and
uncheck the "Picture placeholders" box | Print | check the "Drawing
objects" box | OK.

You may not have changed anything.

Typically we find a third-party is responsible for modifying our
preferences. This could be an add-in, template, a macro you may have
run for a specific document, etc.

Do you recall using any templates from the Microsoft Template Gallery
recently? Have you installed any Word add-ins? Did you enable macros
on a document you did not create?

Not to mention that Word itself will activate this option when the graphics
load becomes very heavy.

This may be it.
I've been working with a "ton" of graphics the past week or so with
different O2K programs, including Word..
At least I know now how to fix.

Thanks to all.
