Photo Story: Is there a workaround to increase number of images

J

Joe Hissen

1. I have more than 700 still images. I want to render them on one
slideshow. How can I increase the capacity of Photo Story?

2. Roxio Slideshow has a much larger capacity. Before I progress further,
does any one know what is the capacity of Roxio? Can it take 700 photos?

3. Has any one tried Movie Maker for a slideshow of this magnitude? In
my experimenting with MM, it was toooo slow.

Thanks.

AFAIK...there is no way to increase
the 300 image limit in PS3.

Try combining 2 or more PhotoStorys
with Movie Maker.

The following software has been reported
to be good for slideshows.

ProShow Gold

Thanks John. Your suggestions is most helpful.

I have downloaded a trial version of ProShow Gold 2.6

and am more satisfied with it than with the other applications I

have experimented with for a Slideshow (Movie Maker 2,

Photo Story 3, Roxio 8 and Nero 7).

The maximum image capacity of ProShow Gold is equal

to the maximum capacity of the disc you plan to use (DVD,

CD, e-mail). It is quite an advantage to have all the authoring

and burning software in one integrated package. However,

it lacks the capability for a Double/Dual Layer DVD burning

required when more than 700 high resolution images plus embedded

music, transformations and visual effects are included.

ProShow Gold is easy to master in a very short

period of time, but is not as intuitive as MM2 or PS3, (would

have been my choice if their capacity been higher) and lacks

some of the functionality of MM (the best of the lot had it

also been faster and more robust)

Thought other readers might be interested in my experience.

Thanks again.

Having managed one with 100 images I must wonder WHY anyone would want to
exceed the 300. Between burning time and watching time, it does not
compute..... What he sayd was just because it CAN be done is not
particularly a reason for doing it?

Yep SLOOOOOOW. We may be in the space age with computer games and high
speed processors but slide show programs evidently are slide show programs.

ALL in MHO of course>

You are correct Larry. The requirement is too large. It is however required
to
create a Legacy archive as part of a family documentation and will. See my
thread on ProShow Gold 2.6 which has accomodated my requirement.

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks for your review of the ProShow Gold.

I haven't tried these apps but they all
appear to have their strengths and
weaknesses.

I've also seen good reports on ULead:

FilpAlbum 6 Suite

DVD Photo Slideshow
http://www.dvd-photo-slideshow.com/index.html
(this one claims dual layer support)

There are many more if you search...

Good Luck .
