HI
I am new to this. I have produced a photo story 3 project. I saved the file
as *.wmv. I read in the newsgroup that I could open this file in Nero Ultra 6
and burn a VCD there. But I can not find WMV in the file list for nero to
open.
Can anyone help.
Thanks
Jim

I don't use Nero... some software doesn't include WMV in their pick list of
input files, but if you change the list setting accept any file it'll
work.... or you can drag and drop it into it to work.

If it doesn't work directly, you'll have to open the story in Movie Maker
and resave it as a movie... the WMV file from Movie Maker is different than
from Photo Story so it might work in Nero.... or you'll need to save the
movie as a DV-AVI file and try that.

If the DV-AVI file from MM2 doesn't work, it'll be because it's a type I
file... and you'll need to convert it to type II using one of the utilities
I have listed and linked on my Setup > Other Software page.

WOW!!! what a checklist... hope you make it on the first try.

You are correct. Although Nero doesn't have WMV as a choice you can use
drag-and-drop to get the file into the list and Nero will be able to
read it.

Thanks Barry,

I'll add that note to me website page for Nero... what version of Nero is
it? Is Nero Ultra 6 the same as Nero 6 Reloaded?

It is Nero 6. I think they just use the Reloaded as a marketing phrase.
I have update to the latest and it is still called Ultra.

Another question Barry,

The WMV file from PS3 is using a different codec than the PS2 file, and the
WMV file from Movie Maker. Does Nero handle all 3?

It seems able to handle all three file types (to test MM I took a PS2
WMV file and saved it as a Video for PocketPC 2003 at 384Kbps WMV file).
The component of Nero used for this is called NeroVision Express.

I have a question that I hope you can answer. I have made several
presentations with photo maker sofatware and while playing on our tv the
images that have bright colors or patterns seem to jump as the image pans
across the screen. Is there a way to stop this. I have saved in highest
quality format and in preferred for cd recording. the cd recording quality
seemed to help, but the pictures are much lower quality and look pretty poor
on my 42 inch plasma. Any ideas/

What kind of disc did you burn? If it's a DVD then you should try the custom
profile, a download on my Photo Story 3 > Saving page.... assuming you're
using Photo Story 3.

If it's not a DVD, then it would be a VCD or SVCD, which are low quality
compared to DVD.
