Photo Story 3 saving to AVI JPEG, MPEG-1, or MPEG-4

I just bought myself a digital picture frame that accepts only these movie
file types, no WMV. I wanted to know if there is a direct way within PS3 to
save as one of these. I've tried converting from WMV to MPEG but the file
always comes out bigger in size and less in quality.

PhotoStory only saves in the .wmv format.

Since the Frame supports .avi...maybe you
could import your .wmv file/s into Windows
Movie Maker....drag them to the timeline
and save them as DV-AVI files.

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

It's a Westinghouse DPF-0801.

The documentation on the product sucks !#@%^ as far as specifically what AVI
videos it will support. It just says AVI, but there are lots of variations
of internal formats for AVI. And apparently the AVI format I got out of
Movie Maker 2.1 isn't one that the frame likes.

Is Apple's Quicktime 7 Pro the only viable and cheap solution to outputting
MPEG4 video?

Wish MS would buck up and allow outputting of different formats from PS3
other WMV. Even space sucking AVI would help.

Oh yes, that's the main reason why I'd rather not use AVI, a small video in
that format sucks up huge amounts of space. Trying to fit everything onto a
1gb CompactFlash card that the frame supports.

Since the frame is JPEG compatible
couldn't you just use the images as is
without converting to video?

Maybe this link will be useful:

Probably because the JPEG slideshow just isn't as compelling as the one I can
put together with PS3.

It says it's supports video, I just need to find the exact combination of
encoding settings that it likes. I've sent Westinghouse a contact email, but
I'm not expecting much back.
