An incredibly useful freeware program for users of digital cameras.

Windows Explorer can display files from a digital camera, organize the
thumbnails, and do batch renaming. I don't understand the need for
these specialized programs.

For one photographer, changing 'photograph management' into 'file
management' is a formidable leap. Perhaps generalizable to some
photographers.

But Windows Explorer has a thumbnail mode that can sort exactly as
those specialized programs. Perhaps there's something else I'm not
understanding about this. I organize my photos using Windows Explorer
all the time.
