Photo Gallery Icons are Wrong

Has anyone else noticed that the icon used to indicate that a file will open
with Photo Gallery is wrong in some places?

For example, in the Control Panel, go to Default Programs, and then Set
Default Programs. Look at the icon for Photo Gallery in the left pane: "two
gears". Notice how every other application has the correct icon except for
Photo Gallery.

Also, if you right click a file that Photo Gallery is set to open by
default, such as a jpeg, and click on Properties, the icon for Photo Gallery
is also the "two gears". This icon is not a Photo Gallery icon.

Probably because the photo preview runs from a .dll. Here's the 'Open'
command for a .jpg file:

%SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo
Gallery\PhotoViewer.dll", ImageView_Fullscreen %1

If you double-click a .jpg & it opens to preview in Photo Gallery, it will
group on the taskbar (if need be) with Explorer windows. If you look at
running apps in Task Manager, you won't see Photo Gallery listed as an app.
Not until you click 'Go to Gallery' does the full app
(WindowsPhotoGallery.exe) launch and show on the Taskbar & in Task Manager.

Hmm. That's very interesting. Thanks for filling me in on that.

That does explain it, but I still think it looks bad for the icons to
display the gears.

Thanks!
