Photo Gallery closed by DEP.

Hi all,
Someone in the dutch groups has got the folling problem, the Photo
Gallery keeps being closed by DEP.
He tried to set an exception, but got the message that PG has to run
under DEP.
Any ideas anyone?

knowing what it is it would be very very strange if ''you'' could turn off
the DEP. If you can do it, programs also could do it, so that the whole
point of the DEP is worthless.
Or am I wrong with this.
(i assume the UAC is also turned off otherwise you would end up with a
notice)

You can turn off and turn on DEP from the command line. I agree with
Richard... it sort of makes it useless. I HAVE disabled DEP because it
interfered more than helped - I spent more time trying to get things to run
under DEP than actually working. I'm waiting for the ever elusive SP 1 to fix
the DEP issue.

What do we need to type into the command line to turn it off and on?

I really do advise (not that I'm some expert or anything) against shutting it
down unless you're in a similar situation as I am. With that said

You have to open the command prompt as the administrator - Start, All
Programs, Accessories. Right click the C:\ prompt and run as administrator.
At the prompt type in

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

Hit the enter key and you should get a confirmation that it was completed.
You'll need to reboot your system and DEP will be off. Note... to turn it
back on use the same command line as above except AlwaysOn
