photo collage cutouts?

Michele Hamilton

I would like to make a photo collage on a slide.. I would like to do some
oval cutouts... what program will allow me to do a nice photo cutout (a
heart maybe?) that won't put a white frame around it? I have Picture It!
from Microsoft but it leaves a white square..thanks so much!!

You need to save the images as .png files vs. .jpg (or similar). A .png file
supports transparency where the other formats do not. Check here for a
tutorial that creates .png files using PhotoShop, other applications have a
similar process (I do not believe PictureIt! supports .png files, check in
the save as or export options).

ping")

A second option is to create a shape in PPT using the autoshapes. Select
shape, go to FILL EFFECT and choose FILL EFFECTS, go to the PICTURE tab.
Click the SELECT PICTURE button and browse to your image. Picture will fit
inside autoshape.

Insert an autoshape onto your PPT slide, then go to Format/Autoshape. On the
colors and lines tab, pull down the fill colors options and use a picture
fill. Remove any lines from your autoshape.

That's just one quick way to do this. Troy's given you the "real" way.

Hello,

If none of the suggestions provided give you the functionality that you
were looking for or, if you (or anyone else reading this message) have
suggestions for how and why you think PowerPoint should provide this
functionality natively (or make it easier), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
