Phone Problems with caller ID

I have always had a phone line hooked up to my computer
but, lately when I plug in my phone line, I cannot get the
caller ID on my regular phone. When I unplug it I do get
the caller ID. I am on Broadband and I do fax through
the computer but I am having to plug the phone up when I
have to fax because I can't get caller ID on my phone
and, if I don't disable the fax received, it interfers
with my call when it comes in on the regular phone. I
called Dell and they say it is a configeration problem
and suggested that I contact you about this. It worked
good until about a month ago and I called the phone
company and they said it was a problem with the computer.
I have a Dell Computer (Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 240
GHz D 8L40521, Dimension 4550 Series. My printer &
scanner is a Lexmark X75. When I receive a fax, I use
the Windows Fax Monitor. Please see if you can answer my
problem.
Thank you.

This is a newsgroup for peer-to-peer support, not Microsoft. What
changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
