Attention: Malke Phone Trouble

In answer to your question concerning what has
changed on my problem with caller ID
The only thing that has happened is that we had Broadband
installed and I had a second line hooked up to my
computer. Since I use Broadband now, I only have one
phone line to my home and I have to use it to fax
through. It all started when my security system started
going off and saying I had phone trouble. I checked the
phone and it had dial tone on and off. This went on for
several days and I called the phone company and they came
out and told me that I had security problems and phone
line problems. He kept his meter on the telephone line
and when we disconnected the line going to the computer
the phone line cleared up. He also said to call the
security people and, we did, and he said nothing was
wrong with it and he reset it. We plugged the phone line
back in to the computer and within a day or so we were
not getting caller ID on the phone. I also had to
disable the fax because it kept interfering with the
phone calls coming into my house. After I plugged the
phone line back up to the computer, my caller ID quit
working again. I called the phone company back and he
checked the line and said it was okay and that it was a
bad computer. I unplugged the phone line to the computer
and now I have caller ID. I don't know what the problem
is but it is not right. I would appreciate anything you
could do to help me.
Thank you.

Whoa. Like r-man says, I have no idea what you're talking about - this
newsgroup sees 1000-1500 new posts every day. However, from this
current post I'd say just call in a good local computer repair person
to troubleshoot all of this. Your situation is far too complex to get
addressed on Usenet. You have too many factors going on. I'd strip
everything out to get to the simplest setup and go from there, but
really this is going to need a person on site to fix, not someone
reading a Usenet post.
