Phone Dialer on Windows XP Prof?

Hi!

Do anyone on this group uses Phone Dialer? Can I use this to dial and
receive calls by connecting my phone line to my PC? Btw, why Phone Dialer is
not included on Windows XP Prof?

It's (dialer.exe) useful only if you have a voice-capable modem.

Voice capable modem? how can I check that? I have IBM ThinkPad R40E, does it
have voce capable modem? How can I check it on the manual?

Hi,

Spec's look like a standard fax modem, not voice capable - most aren't.
Usually you have to purchase one, not many machines come with one.
