Phantom user account in WinXP.

Hi! Running Windows XP Home SP2, I was surprised to get a phantom user
account the day I had installed the second WGA Instructions (KB905474)
update and OmniPage 15.0. This user account was added to the four
accounts already in the Documents and Settings folder: Administrator,
All users, Default user and my own work account, but was not listed in
the Control panel. After I had deleted it to the trash, it came back
twelve days later. Has someone any explanation for this curiosity?
Thanks for your kind response.

It is Bill Gates personal account. You should read the EULA agreement more
closely next time.

What was the name of the "phantom" account?

Maybe he means the "Default User"? I'd be curious to know what that is, too.

Hello Alias,

The "Default User" account is established when the OS is installed. It is
the base account that all custom (individual) accounts are created from.
When a user creates a new account, WinXP creates a copy of "Default User"
account and names the copy what the user chose for a name.

Hence, if you have certain things that you want to be apart of any future
(new) accounts. You can simply copy the items into the "Default Account".

Hope this helps!

Sorry! It has nothing to do with Default User account. The phantom
account was named after my main work account (the four first characters
of this account). The normal accounts are Adminstrator, All Users,
Default User, my own work account, then an additional account I've never
created.
