Phantom recovery documents.

I'm having an odd issue with a workstation using Word 2000. When the user
opens Word, they have been seeing two documents now that open as recovered
documents. These documents are old and are not something that the user has
been working on recently. I have saved the recovered docs every way possible
in hope that they would go away and have deleted the associated temp files.
They are still popping up. Is there another file governing this behavior?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?RGF2ZSBCb2Nr?=,
I'm having an odd issue with a workstation using Word 2000. When the user

documents. These documents are old and are not something that the user has

If you navigate to the folder where these documents are stored and delete any
*.tmp and ~*.* files, does that help?

A colleague of mine once wrote:

"Document Recovery for Word is stored under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Resiliency

This key is created and deleted as needed.

It should just be a matter of deleting the Resiliency key to correct
the issue. They may need to clear their AutoRecover folder too."

I've never tried this, so I can't say whether it helps. Other than that, try
asking in the office.setup newsgroup. Someone there may have an idea.
