PGP?

Can some one advise me on whether it is a good idea to install Pretty Good
Privacy? I see that Microsoft uses it to sign various documents. So do
some of my friends. Is there a standard source of a compatible program?

Wonderful program for those who know what it does and how to use it.
However, don't install the 128 bit version on any computer that has the
potential to leave the country.
