Hi,
I get the message below periodically and was wondering if
anyone else does and what the solution is. I have a 1.2 GB
pst file on my local drive.

"The file Personal Folers was not closed properly. The
file is being checked for problems.

Some questions;
-What version of Outlook?
-Are you running any add-ins?
-Is the outlook.exe process not running in Task Manager when you close
Outlook
-ran scanpst.exe already against it?

Guess I will jump in on this one. I have run into this
same issue since the Office SP3 update. Running Win XP
SP1, Office XP SP3, I run this on my Dell Latitude
Notebook PC. Each time I shut down I have it set to
synch and it seems to synch properly. The error message
occurs occasionally when I start Outlook XP. It is
sporadic and I have not found any particular correlation
for why it occurs. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 and
Scansoft PDF Converter Pro ver 2.0 installed which
integrate with Outlook. The issue started after Office
SP3 as did the "another program is trying to access you
address book" message. I installed ClickYes to work
around that one.

Hi,
I have MS Outlook 2002, SP3.
I'm not aware of any add-ins: how do I check?
The outlook process is running when I close.
Have not run scanpst.exe - where can I find it?

Now that others have piped in about SP3, it does seem to be
related to that install timeframe.

Thanks,
Dave Teal

"The outlook process is running when I close."

All there is left it to find out what keeps Outlook open ;-)
