Personal Folders Password - I didnt set it!

i'm using office 2007 w/outlook and exchange at my workplace. i created an
outlook data file (personal folders) to keep deleted msgs offline since
exchange is set to only allow 50meg per mailbox.

it got to 12,000 msgs then i created a 2nd one - again no problem all's well.

later i decided to remove the first one and just keep it for history.

when i needed to get something from it, i added it back but it came up with
a PERSONAL FOLDERS PASSWORD dialog box and needed a password to continue. i
dont remember ever setting a password on it and naturally none of my current
or previous exchange passwords seem to work.

does this mean that i had to have set a specific password to this outlook
data file or is there something with exchange that automatically puts a
password - maybe made up of domains or userids or passwords?

help!!!

thanks Dan <><

it worked! i had set a password on it (pretty stupid either way - setting it
or forgetting that you did set it). it revealed the password and i was able
to get in.

thanks so much!

The nice thing about that is you can now remove the password, if you didn't
specifically set one. Like I said, this happens all by itself sometimes.
