Personal Folders doesn't close properly

About 1 out of 3 times when I open Outlook 2003 I get an error message that
'the Personal Folders did not close properly' and it needs to reconfigure.
Sometimes it's a 20 second process, but sometimes it's 10 minutes. I can't
figure out why it does it sometimes and not others.

do you use a pda or another program that accesses outlook data? They can
keep outlook from closing properly which causes the message you see when you
restart.

No, I don't access outlook data any other way, just on my laptop.

Do you have Google's desktop search or msn's search tool installed? (They
may be installed and enabled if you installed toolbars.)

I suspect it's related to some corruption with MDAC. Try this:

OK, how to repair a copy of MDAC 2.8 on WinXP with SP2 installed

first, locate the mdac.inf file in c:\windows\inf right click and
install
when prompted for a location, point to
c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 then when prompted for the XPcd,
either load the cd or point to c:\i386

hey presto, this reinstalls / repairs MDAC 2.8

If that doesn't work, follow the directions here:
