hi,

when i write an email and click on the to-/cc- or bcc-box to look for an
account i do see by default all users of our gal. however i want to change
this to have a look first in my personal address book using outlook 2003 sp3.
how to do?

Outlook has not used a personal address book for years. Are you sure you
are?
You can select which folder you want to display first in the address book
view: Tools > Options...

can you be more precise, please? tools -> options -> ... and then? this is
what i am looking for...

Open the Adressbook view by clicking on the Addressbook icon in your
toolbar. Then do Tools-Options...

Are "your" contacts set as an Outlook Address book?
(Right-Click-Properties and click on the Outlook Address Book tab)

no, it is not.

this option is greyed out (i remember having "imported" those contacts in
the past somehow from my outlook used at home being connected to my personal
email provider).

If you are using Outlook 2007 and the the checkbox is grayed, you'll
need to make a new Mail profile. AFAIK.
