Personal A-V Recommendation

I would Like to get a freeware AV for a personal computer I have a standard
56k dial up connection

I am thinking of upgrading to broadband soon will the 'AV work with the
different tech?

Makes no difference to the local AV product whether
you are dialup or broadband.
