Perplexed by Defender's behavior

I have the Defender Beta 2 running for few days now.
I am not sure what it is doing... I have set the timings
so that Defender should run while I am near the PC, and
at least see, something is happening. Following is what
has been listed in the 'History'. Although lots of description
is given, but I have shrunken the descriptions.
So far it talks about the following programs -
-----------------------------------------------------
Programs has potentially unwanted behavior -
Norton eMail Protect
Navnt\POPROXY.EXE
Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\netfxupdate.exe
ATI\SUPPORT\6-2_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_30152\bin\atiicdxx.sys
NetFxUpdate_v1.1.4322
----------------------------------------------------
Well, hope Windows Defender knows about these
everyday used programs, such as, Norton E-Mail
protector, Microsoft .Dot Net, ATI video, etc, etc.
As I said, I am perplexed. Microsoft AntiSpyware
was doing something (?) but, what is Defender doing?
May be I need to be educated. Any comments ......

You may have left out a bit that's crucial: Were those things listed as not
yet classified--or unknown?

By default, no action is taken on such objects, nor are they brough to the
users attention without advanced spynet membership and additional checkboxes
near the end of general settings.

Yes--there's quite a bit that the beta doesnt know about yet that you might
expect that it would.

Both '\PROGRA~1\Navnt\defalert.exe'
& '\Program Files\Navnt\POPROXY.EXE'
has not been classified yet.. everything else is
either 'Allowed' or 'Classified' or 'In Progress'.
Under 'Currently Running Programs', all of
Microsoft programs are 'Allowed', but other
software company products are 'not yet classified'.

Well does that make any sence? What bothers me is
the fact that everything is somewhat hidden. I guess
I have to learn the Defender language.
