Hey,

I'm trying to set some permissions in WinXP but whenever I select
properties of a file or folder there's never a Security tab to set
permissions. All I have is a General tab and a Sharing tab. I
checked the properties of my hard drive's partition and it is NTFS but
I don't see any way to set permissions. Anyone have an idea what the
deal is?

thanks, mike

If you have XP Pro, go to Folder Options - View and uncheck the box 'Use
Simple File Sharing'

XP Home is limited to the Simple File sharing in normal use, and does
not support Security tabs
