Hello All,

I have a subweb which I only want particular users in my organization to view. I set those users as able to browse. I turned annonymous access off. However, other users are able to view the subweb. What am I missing?

For one thing you're missing the idea that posting to Usenet in HTML is a
no-no.

How can you tell if a msg is coming from ng or from one of the propogated forums? - curious...not being critical.

I have been posting to newsgroups for over a year via my OE and I have
never, ever heard that. Do you have any documentation on that? I have
never read that in any netiquette that I have read. I am not being smart, I
just would like to see that documentation.

well, I guess it is live and learn. I was just suprised because I thought I
was up on Netiquette and all the time I have been online I never heard
anything like that (and trust me in some of the groups I am on, there are
many people who tell the others when there is a breach and I never see it
towards me or anyone else).

it's no biggie really.
occasionally there is a reason to post in html and you won't get chastised for it.
the newgroop police won't ticket you

I get curious. Just like someone who once chatised me for top posting
instead of bottom posting. I still don't agree with him. But I definetely
have no problem posting in plain text rather then html. In fact, until
mentioned, I didn't ever know I was posting one way or the other because it
looks the same in OE (when dealing with text in a newsgroup).

Robert,

It's not worth worrying about. The nature of this group is that we get a
LOT of first timers using Outlook Express (not putting you in that group) so
we see lots of HTML posts. Yes, we prefer not to see them, but I've got my
reader configured to display everything in plain text anyway, so I can never
tell when someone uses it.

Personally, I like forum formats better ngs are much faster. I run a couple of forums on Delphi - I like their format - much easier to read and find msg then others I have played with.

not worried; did change the setting though.

Another group I am regularly on, when someone breaks netiquette, a regular
(Ray at Work- don't know if he posts to this group), usually posts the
netiquette break via a website. This way, the person can see it and others
can learn as well.

But I am beating a dead horse.
