Permissions to open profile

Hello,
My colleague has WXP Pro SP1, OfficeXP Pro SP2, all was
working till he did a F5 to recuperate his system which
failed. The only problem he has encountered till now is in
Outlook XP. With his Windows profile, he is prompted to
give his username (un), password (pw) and domain name when
we try to do a verify name (while configuring the Exchange
Server service). However with the domain administrator, he
can open any profile and resolve any name in Outlook. His
profile had all the local rights, so it's not a question
of rights. We can open his Outlook profile on another
machine with his profile. How can we bypass this problem,
because the information we enter; UN, PW and domain name
give him the following error; wrong UN or PW, verify the
domain etc..... We tried logging on to the machine with
another user and the same problem occured. I presume that
there is an information in the registry which has to be
reset or something in the Default User or All User which
has been corrupted. How can we restore this? There are two
solution which I see, but I don't want to use;
1. Making the user part of the Admininstrator group of the
domain
2. Copying the administrator profil in default user.
Thanks in advance for your prompt reply.

I think that is the same problem I am having. Please
email me at (e-mail address removed) if you do resolve this issue.
