Permissions on a DC

Hi,

We have a tape drive on one of our Domain Controllers. We want to give a
user access to administer the settings on the drive. If it were a member
server we would give this user local admin rights, but with it being a DC we
are unsure how to achieve this. We obviously cannot grant domain admin
rights.

Try putting the users in the backup operators and/or
server operators group, this will probably allow them to
perform their task. Otherwise ypou'd have to put them in
the administrators group, which is almost the same as
putting the as domain admins because they would be able to
administer the domain controllers.

Hope this helps,
Robert

How can I give someone permission to change settings on a particular device
on a DC?

Thanks,
Terry
