I am really tired of struggling with access to some of my own folders or
files on my machine.
I am the only user, don't have any kids or strangers to worry about, and
don't want any hurdles to bar me from my own files.
I have used IIS for many months testing a mirror of my web site via
localhost in the "inetpub" folder, and suddenly I am denied authorization to
view pages, or told that it cannot find pages.

Can anyone help me out here?

Please, can't anyone help here?

Best first step is to read in "help" about system admininstration,
permssions, etc. This gives you the information you need to debug the
problem.

I am *guessing* from what you are saying that you have a IIS web server
running and that you are getting this access deny message when trying to
view the web pages in a browser via the IIS web server. This means to
me that the ID which is running the web server, not you, is the ID that
is being denied. Need to debug it from that perspective.

Note: unless your web site has ASP or any "programming" like this and
is just static web pages, then you don't need IIS to view your web site.
You can open the files directly in Internet Explorer and as long as
you use relative links (rather than full URL's) which is the the "right"
way, then you don't need the complexity of IIS. Just a thought...

I replied yesterday with a few comments. Did it help? If not, any
comments as a result?
