XP Pro IIS Web server problem!

Guest

I've installed IIS on my notebook to test my web design.
When I browse thru Internet Explorer; http://localhost/index.asp
(my .asp files are in C: InetPub/WWWroot) I get " Can't find web page"

I tried under Performance & Maintenance / admin tools to see if there was an
icon for IIS, but it wasn't.

Can you please help?

Thank you,

Thanks Rick!

My problem is that I still can't see an icon for IIS on my Admin Tools! So I
can run
my Web server.
I couldn't see instroctions/help on the article you sent to me for that
issue or maybe I'm missing the point!
Can you please help? Thanks!

Go Start/Run/ and type "%SystemRoot%\System32\inetsrv\iis.msc" without the
quotes.

Thanks Jonah!
I tried it and the good news is that I got something on my screen which is
an IIS window but it says "Sanp-in Creation failed"
Do you know why?

I think I'am almost there! I appreciate your help
