When you put the HDD into the new computer you can take ownership of the
data there and still access it. Otherwise it may not recognize the
permissions there if they do not exist in the new workstation. Hope that
helps...
When an account does not exist on the new computer then
the permissions for that account are obviously meaningless.
The administrator may then have to remove the meaningless
permissions and set up new ones.
