R-click the icon for the application and choose properties. On the shortcut
key>run, choose maximized. An alternate way is to grab the edges of the
normal window to drag them as far as they will go to fill the screen. Leave
it that way when you close the program. When you restart it, it should be in
the same condition as when you closed it
