I wish to permanently delete the Marquee screen saver so
no one can use it.
Thank you

Screen savers are .scr files. In Windows Explorer, navigate to
windows/system32 and delete the file named ssmarque.scr.

I believe that all SCR file in System32 are considered system files and
Windows XP will always replace them. You may have to uninistall ALL screen
save from the Control Panel.

Yves, I don't know about having to uninstall all of them but you are right
about it being replaced by windows. Just tried deleting it myself and it
will let you delete it but when you go back to the display properties
screen, it's still a choice. I guess I don't know what it would take to get
rid of it.

I delete it and it just keeps coming back. I also deleted
the .scr called text and when you reopen the screen they
are back.
Thanks

How?
Nancy

You need to delete it from the System32/dllcache folder first. Then
delete it from the system32 folder.

If you delete it from the cache folder then Windows can't put it back.
