Periodic BSOD

A friend who is running XP with SP2 and all updates - memory 1 gig,
processor 3gig , ATI video card. ISP is Unwired.

Recently he has been experiencing a number of BSOD with the common
denominator TCPIP.SYS etc etc.

This generally occurs when he is going from one web site to another - this
mornings message was

Technical Detail:
Ox 0000008E (OxC0000005, OxAF175C8, Ox A835E8D4, Ox00000000)

TCPIP.SYS Address AAF175C8 base at AAF1400 Date Stamp 444 775d3


I'm trying to track down and resolve the problem for him.

Any clues of where to look? I vaguely remember a post quite awhile ago
about a patch for TCP.SYS but not sure??

Hello,

If your friend's Windows XP CD is SP2 integrated, try restoring TCPIP.SYS to
c:\windows\system32\drivers from the CD

Hello,

If your friend's Windows XP CD is SP2 integrated, try restoring TCPIP.SYS
to c:\windows\system32\drivers from the CD

This phenomena only occurs with Firefox - doesn't matter which version and
is currently using v2.0.0.3
No problems using MS Internet Explorer
