Performance problem at startup

When I fire up IE6, the first url I enter takes up to a
minute before anything is displayed. After that,
everything is fine.

I tried the same thing on the same PC using Netscape and
this does not happen -Netscape captures the first page
quickly.

From the above I infer that it's not a network problem but
one specific to IE.

Has anyone seen this before?
