Perculiar problem

Built a client's site well over 2 years ago and its been going fine. Used a
theme with shared borders.

In FP it all looks great buttons on the link bar in the LHS shared border.
Perview and preview in browser are fine. But live in browser the buttons
show as text links....any idea?

TIA

No guarantees... (FP 2002) but try changing the "style" of the link bar
by navigating to page view of the index page and R click on the link
bar > Link Bar Properties > Style tab.

Change the style to any other. Save and publish. Repeat, but select
the style of your previous theme -from the list- and not the option to
"Use Page's Theme".

Don't ask me why this error occurs or why my technique sometimes fixes
it, or sometimes not. The majority of my web repair has been devoted
to fixing this particular issue, at least 100 hours over 6 years... and
I still don't have a clue.

I coulda learned html in the time I've wasted on this particular issue.

Remote web site requires FP2002 extensions.
If these are installed, it is easier to open the remote site in
FrontPage and apply the style there.
There is a bug in the extensions, that if the link bar style is not the
same theme as the web page, then the theme for the link bar does not
always publish correctly. This only applies if the local site is disc
based - server based local sites (with FP2002 extensions) usually
publish correctly.
