I bought a 8GB kingston pen drive, when i copy some folders, folders will be copied but if i open the folders i cant view the files present in them. If i delete the files files will be deleted but space consumed in the drive will not be freed.

Have you tried to reformat the pen drive . A lot of them have a utility on board to do so .
