q20

hi there

over the last few days i've noticed somehting rather odd
happening with my computer. i don't know how long this
problem has been here, but it's only apparent now.

if i click on the printers and faxes icon in the start
menu, nothing happens. if i right click and select either
explore or open, it reacts as expected. the same can be
said of a recycle bin shortcut i've put in my quick-
launch toolbar. if i simply click on either of these two
icons, nothing happens. what's more annoying is it tends
to cause explorer to freeze on me. all my programmes
continue to work fine, but i have to alt-tab between them.

this is not always the case, but it happens often enough
for me to seek help.

i'm running xp pro, with every fix and patch available
installed. i've run regclean and system mechanic, hoping
they might be able to solve the problem, but nothing has
helped so far.

any help here would be fantastic. it's driving me crazy!
i love having a computer that just ticks over beautifully
without any problems... this is frustrating enough to
prompt a complete re-install. but i'm hoping i can avoid
that with some help...

thanks in advance

.
Recommend you do a RESTORE a couple of days prior to
when the trouble started. If that doesn't help, go to
website below for further assistance: Repair XP

well, i managed to restore to a point on friday, and
everything's working fine now... even so, i'd like to
know how this is possible... very strange problem.

thanks for the help

i have since found that the problem was caused by a programme called
regxplorer.

every time i access the programme, i end up with the same problems as
described earlier. anybody have any idea why this is happening?
