PDF from WORD

Have a "pdf driver" printer generated by WORD. It does not work, seems to be
looking for a macro. HELP !

It would help if you said what versions of Word and Acrobat
you're using. A few things to check:
1. Make sure the PDFMAKER.DOT and PDFMAKERA.DOT files are in
your Word startup folder. In Word, click on Tools | Options |
File Locations, to see where your startup folder is.
2. In Word, click on Tools | Macro | Security | Security
Level. If your macro security level is set to High, then either
change the security level to Medium, or add Adobe to the list of
trusted sources. See

information on how to do the latter.
3. In Word, click on Tools | Templates and Add-ins... under
"Global templates and add-ins", is PDFMaker.dot listed as a
choice, and is it checked?
4. In Word, click on View | Toolbars... is PDFMaker listed as
a choice, and is it checked?

You could try another one. I find that this one works well for me

It was free (adware) when I downloaded it. I think it still is.

Word does not have PDF compatibility without the aid of third party
products. The standard is Acrobat which works in conjunction with Word via
an add-in (COM or DOT depending on version). The add-in provides the macros.
Alternatively you can have a more limited functionality by 'printing' to the
Adobe driver.

Other PDF utilities will work in an essentially similar manner.
