PDF Files will not download

I amusing IE 6 sp1 and have not been able to download any
PDF type files. As soon as I start downloading the
screen turns white and a small box appears in the top
left hand corner. The small box contains a circle,
square, and triangle. Nothing happens. Any thoughts.

Acrobat Reader (again) from www.acrobat.com

If it is only .pdf files, then read on and see if this is relevant:
You may have an invalid plugin.
Netscape-Style Plug-ins Do Not Work After Upgrading Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=303401

Remove the plugin with Regedit.exe
Start-Run-Regedit.exe
Navigate down to this key and remove it, after exporting it as a
normal safety precaution.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Plugins\Extension\.pdf

If that key exists, then you will see what plugin has been installed.
(QuickTime by the looks of it and if so, I believe they have a fix)
The key does not normally exist.

I am having the same problem.

I followed your path and located the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Plugins\Extension\.pdf

I have that plugin. I have no idea how to export the plugin nor
where to export it to, prior to removing it per your suggestions.

Can you provide a bit more direction.

I am having the same problem.

Right click .pdf in the left pane and choose Export. After saving the REG
file, right click .pdf again and choose Delete,

I exported the file per your instructions. I still
cannot download a .pdf file?

I did some research and found out that there is some
connection with Fianle Note Pad, a music software package
that my son has on our computer.

Did you delete the .pdf key after exporting it per the instructions already
given?
