pdf files using outlook (xp)

I have a hp scanjet 5370c. On the front panel I have four buttons:
They are labeled scan, copy, email and fax. In the past when I wanted to
send an email attachment in pdf format all I had to do was push the email
button and it would scan and attach the scanned file to the email as a *.pdf
file.

I’m running xp pro using outlook 2002… my problem is my mother board went
south on me and I had to purchase a new computer, now when I try this process
I’m getting a ~MAP0000 Type file attachment. I can no longer get the pdf
file. I’m trying to work with HP on this problem. Has anyone had this type of
problem?

I can do a manual scan and save the file as a pdf file then attach the file…
My documentation on the scanner says the buttons are factory set can anyone
help?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software that came with the scanner.

When I went to hp.com to look in their online manuals for that scanner, all
of them were listed for the Mac. Could be they don't have downloads for the
PC manuals. You sure you got the PC drivers and software and not the Mac
versions, and that you got the right Windows version? Looks like the
sj666en.exe file covers several Windows versions.

the manual states: connectivity via USB cable...Use with windows
98,Me,2000,XP, and/or Macintosh computer systems. so I guess this means you
can run both... I used windows 98se for over two years.... been running xp
for about a year now.

Assuming you downloaded the latest version and installed that one (and the
one on the CD that came with the product), looks like you'll have to contact
HP on why their software won't work.
