Directly, no. Word cannot "open" PDF files, nor are they intended to be
edited. Generally, people send stuff in PDF format because they *don't* want
it to be changed (among other reasons, of course).
Depending on how the PDF was created you may be able to edit it using a PDF
program (such as Acrobat) or you may be able to copy the content using Adobe
Reader - or another PDF reader - then paste to a doc.
One place I found a simple answer was on puzzlenyc.org. In summary, it stated
that you need Adbobe Acrobat to do the conversion. You would save the file as
a Word file. Be aware, though that the conversion works fine for most text
files and simple graphics. If your document has more complex layouts, you may
have formatting problems. There are various utilities that can do the
conversion better, and you'll find a list of these utilities on the
puzzlenyc.org site
