PCMCIA memory card unrecognized

I have two PCMCIA slots on my computer. When I install a memory card adapter
in one slot, the system recognizes as plug n play. When I install it in the
other slot, it recognizes it as an unknown device. I updated all drivers but
I still can't get the memory card (or any other PCMCIA device) to work in
that slot.

Any suggestions?

Does Device Manager see two slots?

The device manager shows two TI PCI cardbus controllers under the PCMCIA
adapters. I think this means that it sees both slots. Any suggestions?
