pci.sys corruption

When I put my win 2000 cd in the cd drive reboot...
The blue set up screen appears..does some loding..then
stops with the error message "The file pci.sys is
corrupted." Press any key to continue...

Anyone ever see this error message?
 
You might try another CD-Rom drive. The drive may be bad and or
non-compliant.
 
thanks..tried that but same result..noticed a scrath on
win 2000 cd i am using...could be the problem?
