PCI device problem

Hi all.

I'm using a PCI modem card with WinXP. The motherboard is Asus P4P800 and XP
is installed with the Multiprocessor ACPI HAL. APIC is enabled. The problem
is WinXP is giving the modem a high IRQ number (23) and the modem does not
seem to like it, the machine will totally hang whenever I try to access the
modem's property page. Is there a way to force it to have a low IRQ either
through the BIOS or WinXP itself?

Hi, thx for the reply.

ACPI option is indeed set in the BIOS
By Plug and Play, did you mean 'Plug and Play OS' option? It's set to No

I think the problem is not with ACPI and IRQ sharing, but with APIC giving
it a high IRQ number (greater than 15, 23 in this case). It worked ok on my
previous mobo where I setup WinXP WITH ACPI, but without APIC.

Yes it does change.

Btw, it turns out that there's a driver update for my modem and it seems to
solve the problem :). Anyway, thx for your help
