PC wont shut down, why?

It wont shut down. It just says pc is shutting down but thats it. it stays like that unless i pull the plug out of the back. reset wont do. I have asus eee box B202.

Also when installing programs, it just freezes half way. any ideas why?
 
Which OS is this for, and I'll move it to the software section :)
