pc wont restart after power loss

help me!!!

my new computer froze while playing a game. i tried all i
know to fix it but it did not respond to keystrikes or
the movement of the mouse. it also didnt respond when i
tried to shut it off through the front of the computer.
so i then unplugged it from the wall. when i replugged it
and tried to turn it on, nothing happened. the screen
stayed black even thought i had turned the monitor and
tower on.

How can i make my computer work and how can i avoid such
a problem in the future?

From your description, it sounds like a hardware failure. Return it if
you can, call support otherwise.

get a good surge protector...most wise folk have them on their pc and other
sensitive equipment....
 
to shut down an unresponsive computer you hold in the power
button on the tower for 5 seconds, if that is what your
system settings say, to give it a safe enough shutdown. you
may have to remove the onboard bios battery to reset the
system bios ,(unless better suggestion here). or try to
restart and hit f8 while booting if it will even boot.
 
Not a surge suppressor, but a UPS with a battery to keep the
power ON until you shutdown properly.
