PC won't boot.

On power up my second (~3 yrs old) pc gets to the first screen only. It shows
the memory as tested ok, and goes as far as recognising the ide drives and
then stops and stays at that point.

If I power off and on, and access the bios, everything including power
supply voltages look ok. Still on exit it won't get past the point of showing
the drives.

Am I correct that this sound like a MB problem as the boot-up process should
go further before XP is started?
