PC will not auto detect camera or card reader

My PC doesnt detect my camera or card reader when i connect them to PC .My old Jam cam works fine when i plug that in.
Software is installed ok for camera & card reader. No other drivers available for camera. Checked USB ports, they say they are working correctly.
 
Have you tried right clicking on the 'drive' with the camera connected,
Properties, Autoplay and choose the option there and mark the Always do the
selected action.
