PC turns off when USB device connects

When I turn on my printer or attach any USB device the machine turns off and
reboots. Is this a virus or an hardware problem?
 
Could be a problem with the Motherboard. Are you using a USB keyboard or
Mouse?

Check to see if your motherboard manufacturer has any BIOS updates. Or if
the system is still under warranty, try giving the builder a call.
