PC turning itself on at random

A while ago my pc was turning on by itself and I was advised to go into the
BIOS and disable Wake on LAN. Power on by mouse and keyboard, PME event
wakeup etc were all disabled too. This solved the problem until a couple of
weeks ago when twice now the pc has been found on despite me shutting it
down. Any ideas what may be causing this please?

i use to have a wireless keyboard a long
time ago. And i too found my pc
turned on, likely for many hours.
it apparently wanted to access
the internet connection, but
since i had an external modem
i always turned off the power
switch

i suspected it was the keyboard
and got rid of it, uninstalled its
software and problem stopped

also, double check to
ensure you are not putting
it in standby using the power down
option in powermanagement.

Check your BIOS settings again. Something may have happened that reset
it to the old settings.
