PC to PC file transfer

Mario Alvares

Does anyone know of an app that allows direct transfer of files between
2 PCs ?

I know that Yahoo, MSN messenger etc. can do this, but I'm looking for a
dedicated app that does this and has features such as resuming
interrupted downloads etc.

Thanks,
Mario

A VNC program like UltraVNC will do what you want.

Simple Socket File Transfer might be a bit spartan, but it's small,
efficient and does the job nicely IMO!

Thanks Henry. The advantage of this one over similar apps is that it
needs to be installed only on the server. The client can use any web
browser to download the shared files.

Will give it a try later today.

Thanks,
Mario

1.) Try Skyfex Remote Assistant

The person offering his computer for viewing (i.e., the server
computer) goes to www.skyfexfree.net to get a client ID, which must
then be given to the person who is running the other (i.e., client)
computer.

After the client has registered to get a permanent password, he only
needs to visit https://skyfexfree.net/expert and use the Client ID to
log in to access the server computer.

Very simple, and the communication is encrypted. Easily supports file
transfers.

2.) RemOffice VNC. The easiest- to- use VNC I have come across. After
the client gets the server's IP address and password, connecting to
each other is a no-brainer. The communication is not encrypted though.
Configuring it with an SSH tunneling program like Putty will provide
that feature if needed. File transfer is easy.

3.) UltraVNC. Easy to use and offers a plugin encryption. Supports
file transfers. www.ultravnc.com The encryption plugin is located at
another link on the site.
